About the Patent Department

The Patent Department consists of three divisions: 1) Electrical Engineering Division; 2) Mechanical Engineering Division; and 3) Chemistry & Biotechnology Division. There are nineteen patent attorneys in the Patent Department. They have years of experience in drafting patent applications, executing invalidation procedures, and dealing with infringement litigation. There are also thirty-four patent engineers, most of whom possess extensive academic and research experience, with Master degrees or higher level graduate degrees. The working languages of Patent Department are Chinese, English and Japanese.

As patent attorneys primarily dealing with patent applications from foreign countries, the patent attorneys at Linda Liu & Partners are not simply translating the documents. The patent attorneys, in order to ensure the full and complete description of the invention is maintained, make full use of their language ability, understanding of technology, and relevant laws. Our patent attorneys have studied patent applications in the relevant area of technology, and make full use of their extensive experience in patent invalidation and intellectual property litigation cases during the patent application filing process, including responding office actions related to the patent being filed. In this way, our patent attorneys are able to ensure that our clients can obtain a valid patent which can be enforced. Additionally, the Patent Department works as a group so that they can better ensure the quality and efficient handling of each case.
